Free Bus Service for Cyclone Larry Victims

After the devastating effects of Cyclone Larry (Category 5) which devastated Innisfail of Northern Queensland (Australia) one thing that Zero to One learnt was that most residents are still without transport due to losing their vehicles in the disaster. Residents that were fortunate enough to have their vehicle still in tact continue to take it in turns car pooling other residents while a great number of locals either hitchhike or walk to and from work and the shops.

Zero to One Foundation have paid two bus companies in Innisfail being Trans North and Doug Hastie Bus Services to provide FREE bus travel on their general routes for any person for  the entire month of May.

This service assists the local residents immensely as although it has been six weeks since the fury of Cyclone Larry it is a slow and lengthy rebuilding task. Thanks to Zero to One, at least residents that still do not have transport have one less worry with how they get around the town.

To ensure that all residents are aware of this service, Zero to One have placed signs on each side of the 2 buses including the front and rear, advising that this is a FREE service. Also local radio station 4KZ broadcasts on their shows information about this service regularly.
